Network Technician

MVP Network Consulting LLC is seeking a proven Network Technician to work closely with our customers to design and troubleshoot computing solutions. Use your understanding of Microsoft technologies to deliver superior customer service and support. Help provide solutions to a growing customer base. Technicians will be able to provide support for all desktops, servers, and networking equipment. VMWare experience is a plus but not required. Familiarity with Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, sonicwall, cisco routers, firewalls, and wireless products, HP switches and Access Points.

All technicians will be able to travel locally and provide their own vehicle. Mileage will be paid for all travel.

Job description: 

  • Outside network technicians travel around the WNY area fixing computer related customer issues.  Mileage is reimbursed at 54.5 cents per mile.
  • Direct supervisor is Service Manager.
  • MVP Open hours are from 8:30AM-5:00PM, Monday thru Friday, and will be your standard scheduled work period.  There is project/OT work that may fall outside of those hours.
  • Phone, and email support for all of the MVP partners.  95% of this position is working outside the MVP Network Consulting office at client offices.  
  • Utilize our RMM tool and service ticket application to assist current clientele with all IT related problems.  
  • Assist with ongoing customer projects including installation of PCs, Servers, and networking equipment.    
  • On-call rotation is paid overtime wages, with a bonus for weekend coverage. Begins at 90 days of employment.
  • Experience with sonicwallor nextgen firewalls is required.  VPN tunnel and client access VPN setup and troubleshooting. 
  • Setup and deployment of VMWare Esxi, HyperV, or Citrix Xen.
  • Building of Group Policies and deployments for software, compliance settings, or other items as needed.
  • Wireless Networking troubleshooting.  Meraki, Datto, Ubiquiti experience preferred but not mandatory
  • Managed switch configurations, HPE, Dell, Xtreme, Cisco.  VLAN configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Antivirus troubleshooting.  Webroot, Avast, AVG, Symantec, Sophos.
  • Computer deployments.  Installation and configuration of software.  Email setup.  
  • Office365 setup and configuration experience.  User creation and license deployments.
  • UPS deployment.  APC, Eaton, CyberPower.


Position Qualifications

•College Degree in IT or a related experience
•3 years of related experience.
•Experience with Windows OS installation and support for both desktop and server system.
•Ability to work remotely as required
•Local Area networking experience including cable management, patching and switching environment
•Experience with supporting computer technology in diverse environments
•Able to travel locally
